Damp and Mould – A message from Our Interim Chief Executive

We are committed to tackling damp and mould; we will work with you to determine the root cause and necessary resolution. In spring 2022, we launched our damp and mould framework that sets out our commitments to residents and we are making good progress with our journey to:

•    Being proactive rather than reactive
•    Not inferring blame and taking responsibility
•    Moving disrepair claims to resolution
•    Using complaints to build a learning culture

We are proactively increasing our visibility of any cases and actively encourage you to contact us if you feel we are unaware of your case. The Executive Team and I are increasing our presence at residents’ homes as part of this. We will resolve things for you.

As we enter the colder months of the year, damp and mould are more likely to occur. Damp and mould can occur for a number for reasons. If you have damp and mould in your home please report it to us, click here or call 020 8996 4200. You can view more information about what we are doing around damp and mould on our damp and mould page.

We have some helpful tips that can help reduce the chance of damp and mould, click here.

We also have a really useful video which will explain how you can reduce the risk of damp and mould in your home, click here.

If our tips and video do not help resolve the damp and mould in your home please get in touch with us immediately. As your landlord, it is our responsibility to resolve damp and mould that isn’t going away. If this is the case, your home may be suffering from penetrating or rising damp. These conditions can occur when a leak is present or because of a structural defect. We’ll send our specialist team in to diagnose and resolve the issue.
