Paying Rent and Service Charges

Below you will find a number of ways to pay your rent. One of the easiest ways to pay your rent is via our Allpay Online payment site.

If you are struggling to pay your rent or service charge, we are here to help. Our Money Management section sets out a number of practical ways that we can help.

You can read more around changes to your rent that are coming into effect in April 2022.

Our Customer Portal

The easiest way to pay your rent is on our Customer Portal. You can register on the Customer Portal, here

You can make a payment using our free and secure online service. You can also access your account 24/7 and:

  • view your balance
  • make a payment
  • view, download and print your statement
  • update your details on the go

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is an easy way to pay your rent, as your bank automatically transfers the correct amount of rent on a fixed date or frequency. The benefit of this is that you do not have to worry about missing a payment and that you minimise the risk of building up arrears on your account.

You can easily set up a Direct Debit over the phone with our Customer Service or Income team by calling 0208 996 4200. Once the Direct Debit has been set up, your rent will be automatically paid from your bank account.

One Off Payment

You can pay your rent by debit or credit card by calling 0208 996 4200 – press one to be put through to the automated Allpay payment line.

Alternatively, you can call 0208 996 4200 to speak to a member of the Customer Service and Income Team to take your rent payment.

Allpay Online Payment

You can pay your rent 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on our Allpay Online payment site. Complete the Customer Reference field with your unique Account Reference number (available on your rent letters and rent increase letters) and enter the amount you wish to pay. Make sure you indicate if you are a leaseholder/shared owner (BUHL) or a weekly rental tenant (SBHR) by selecting the correct service.

If you would like to pay your rent through our Allpay Online payment site, for the first time, you will need to speak to one of Income Team, income.team@sbhg.co.uk or 0208 996 8874. Our Income Team will complete your Allpay registration for you.

Allpay App

You can now pay your rent and service charges easily from your Android or Apple smartphone with the Allpay App. You can download the app on your device via the App Store or Google Play.

When you open the app for the first time you need to register to be able to use the services. Whenever you make a payment via the app you will receive a confirmation e-mail.

Paying your Rent at the Office

Please note, you can no longer pay your rent at the SBHA Offices and do not send cash in the post to us.

Request a Refund

You can now request a refund if you have moved out of a SBHA property or if you have built up a large amount of credit.

Before completing a rent refund form, please ensure the following:

  • As per your tenancy agreement you must remain 4 weeks/1 month in credit after the refund.
  • Both tenancy holders will need to complete a rent refund form.
  • If you are in receipt of Housing benefit or Universal credit, please be aware it can take up to six weeks to process your refund. This is because we will need to contact your local Council before processing your refund to check if there are any overpayments or changes to your benefits.
