Townmead Community Nursery
Townmead Community Nursery, run by London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), is based in one of our buildings in the heart of our Townmead estate in Fulham. With LEYF, we transformed the underused community hall into this buzzing nursery which has an Ofsted rating of 'excellent'.
This is the only nursery providing free Early Years education and childcare services in the local area.
The nursery in Wandsworth Bridge Road is a bright and spacious site, providing care and education for children from birth to five-years-old.
The nursery, which opened in March 2015, fosters harmonious relationships between children, parents and staff and provides funded early years education and childcare services to the local parents. There are three large group rooms which have access to a lovely outdoor garden in which children are inspired to explore, have fun and learn in a safe and secure learning environment.
The nursery uses the LEYF pedagogy which was created using academic research and partnerships with international early years organisations. Its purpose is to provide the best teaching and learning experiences to help children to grow up as confident and inquisitive explorers who love learning.
More than a nursery...
Our partnership creates apprenticeship opportunities open to our residents across London. This supports parents to return to work and develop their skills. Find out more about more about our apprenticeships here.
Resident Mr Murray's daughter attends the nursery. He said: "It's a beautiful place and the staff are friendly."
