The Housing Ombudsman is recruiting 100 residents from across the country to join its new resident panel. This is part of plans to share knowledge and learning between residents and landlords. The residents selected will reflect the different types, sizes and locations of landlords.
The panel will meet twice a year virtually to discuss key areas of work. The closing date for applications to join the resident panel is 25 February. Click here to find out more about the opportunity and to apply.
At SBHG, we have improved the way we handle complaints. Our complaints process was recently reviewed by our Resident Voice Scrutiny Panel (RV). RV provided their assessment of compliance against the Housing Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code (July 2020).
RV’s assessment showed:
» An improvement in complaints handling.
» A recognition that poor handling of complaints leads to poor resident satisfaction.
» The responsibility and ownership of complaints is the responsibility of all officers but overall compliance is the responsibility of the Complaints Manager and the Director of Governance.
