Home improvements

Home improvements make a real difference, improving the home environment and enhancing the quality of everyday life. Crucially, they help people to stay in their own homes when this might not otherwise be possible. Staff can advise and help with access to grants, funds and loans for building work. They can also give advice on welfare benefits and information about other support services in the community.

Home Improvement Grants and Keep Warm Grants are currently available to the residents of RBKC.

Do you need central heating?

Keep Warm Grants are available for the installation of full central heating systems and insulation measures. These grants are also available to replace old (over 10 years old) and broken central heating systems. The Keep Warm Grant is available to home owners and private sector tenants in receipt of a means-tested benefit or with an annual income of less than £20,000.00.

Is your property in need of essential repairs?

Home Improvement Grants are available to carry out essential repairs for home owners. The Home Improvement Grant is available to home owners in receipt of a means-tested benefit or with an annual income of less than £20,000.00.

Tenant Renovation Grants are available to carry out essential repairs for private sector tenants who have a duty to carry out repairs to their property.

If you think you may be eligible, please complete and return the referral form or contact the SPS Home Improvement Agency.

Please note that these grants are discretionary and RBKC will apply eligibility tests to ensure the limited funds are made available to those households that are in the greatest need.
