SBHG on the road

Picture of a resident with our staff on the motor home tourShepherds Bush Housing Group (SBHG) took to the road last week in a themed motor home to talk to residents.

The motor home, decorated with picture frames ‘putting residents in the picture’, toured ten locations across west London as part of the Tenant Services Authority’s (TSA) National Conversation.

More than 100 residents completed the National Conversation survey which will be fed back to the TSA. The results will also be used by SBHG to ensure it provides the best possible service to its residents.

SBHG staff chatted to residents during the week to find out what was important to them as tenants and also what they thought the priorities SBHG and other Housing Associations should be.

Mr Lindsay Leyburn, a resident at Northcroft Court in Shepherds Bush said: “The motor home was a great Idea, because it gave everyone the chance to have their say, face to face, with SBHA staff, who were very helpful. It is good to know that our concerns have been recorded and will be acted upon."

Paul Doe, chief executive of SBHG, said: “We decided the best way was to take to the roads and talk to people where they live. Information gathered during the week will lay the groundwork for new housing policy so it’s important our residents are included. We consult with our residents in many different ways and hope this new approach will encourage people who might not otherwise take part to drop by and have their say.”
