We have two schemes that may be able help you with your noise nuisance problem. Sound reduction and mediation are available to tenants who hold assured, secure and assured shorthold tenancies. Referrals will be made by your investigating officer, if they deem it would be an appropriate resolution.
Sound reduction
We can refer you to our sound reduction programme, which will help to reduce impact noise between properties.
To have the work done, your property will need to meet the required criteria and your neighbour will have to agree.
Not all properties are able to have the sound reduction works and a surveyor will need to visit your home to assess your property.
Mediation
Mediation can be the ideal way to resolve problems with neighbours. We use a professional mediation company who are experienced in dealing with neighbour disputes. In mediation, an independent person helps you to reach an understanding with someone you find it hard to talk to when you have a dispute.
We offer a free voluntary mediation service which will be offered to you if your investigating officer believes it will be suitable and could help to solve your noise nuisance problems. |
