Evidence is vital in investigating cases of noise nuisance and will help the investigating officer to have a better understanding of the noise and behaviour you are experiencing and how it is affecting you and your family.
If your noise complaint is ongoing you should fill in our noise nuisance diary sheet detailing when the noise started, when it ended, where the noise originated or who the noise came from and how it made you feel. You should return completed sheets to your neighbourhood officer.
You may wish to record the harassment/noise you are experiencing. You could do this by using your mobile phone, your camera or by using a dictaphone.
If required we can help you gather evidence by providing you with:
• Dictaphones.
• Professional witnesses who will come to your home at the time the noise occurs.
• Installing a noise nuisance recorder in your property.
You should take care and be careful never to snoop on your neighbours or invade their privacy and never put yourself in danger or risk.
Remember you are recording the noise, not your neighbour’s day to day activities. |
