Homeswapper
Shepherds Bush Housing Association (SBHA) has now teamed up with Homeswapper, a UK-wide operating database of tenants who are looking to swap their homes.
Since October 2009 all SBHA tenants with assured or secure tenancies can register with Homeswapper free of charge. Homeswapper gives them access to 1000s of properties across the UK.
As Homeswapper is an internet based database tenants will need to register online at www.homeswapper.co.uk. This is an easy and straightforward registration process. The details of the tenant’s current property and any requirements they might have regarding their new property are entered onto their profile. Homeswapper can then generate a list of properties that a tenant may want to move to. Registered tenants can also receive matching alerts by text, email or post.
Once a tenant has found a property they like they will contact the resident of the property directly. If the two parties agree to swap their homes, they need to approach their landlords to seek permission to move. You must seek permission from your landlord before you make any arrangments to move,
