Shepherds Bush Housing Association (SBHA) uses Locata to help tenants move to other properties. These can be in different boroughs or with other housing associations and councils across west London.

Locata is designed to give tenants more choice about where they live. In the past, local authorities decided where and when tenants would be offered a home.

To apply for a transfer, tenants need to complete an SBHA housing application form at the Locata Transfer Surgery.

Tenants can get further advice on how the scheme works or on how to bid on the different properties at our Locata Advice Surgery.

SBHA endeavours to assist all tenants in their transfer requests. However it may take some time to move depending on the individual priority. This is because of housing stock, vacancies and SBHA’s obligations to partner housing associations and local authorities.

Who can register with Locata?
All tenants and home seekers of the participating organisations are able to register on Locata with their current landlord.

SBHA will not register tenants who have had or are in the process of legal action taken against them for anti-social behaviour.

If SBHA applicants are registered with Locata but commit anti-social behaviour (which requires legal action) at a later date they will be suspended from Locata for six months or until the date legal action ends.

Households with rent arrears are able to register with Locata. However, SBHA will generally not make an offer to anyone with rent arrears or to those that have been evicted because of rent arrears.

New SBHA tenants who are currently on an assured starter tenancy are not able to register on Locata within the first twelve months of their tenancy. After this period and once their tenancy has become an assured tenancy tenants can register and make bids for properties.
