Ex-servicemen nomination scheme
We think it's important to support our veterans. As ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen do not obtain priority under existing legislation, SBHA provides a small quota of properties for ex-servicemen and women. For this we are working together with the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation.
The Foundation provides housing and support for veterans from the age of 18 upwards, including single people, couples and families, people with disabilities (both physical disabilities and mental ill health) and people who are homeless or vulnerable to homelessness.
To qualify to be housed through the Foundation interested parties must be in need of housing or alternative housing and be able to maintain a tenancy. They must also meet one of the following criteria (which are considered in priority order):
- Service either in the Armed Forces or Merchant Navy or are a widow or widower of such a person and have a disability of a permanent nature.
- Service either in the railway, postal, municipal or police services, or are the widow or widower of such a person and have a disability of a permanent nature.
For further information or to apply, please get in touch directly with the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation on 020 7385 2110.
Chiswick War Memorial Homes (CWMH) opens this Remembrance Day. Shepherds Bush Housing Group developed CWMH on behalf of the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation. Paul Doe, SBHG’s chief executive, said: “This is a stunning development. From the blue print stage we worked with the residents who are now living in the homes that perfectly meet their needs. The homes offer stability and support to create a community with their new neighbours.” |
