BEKO fridge freezers warning
London Fire Brigade is urging people to check if they own one of the models of BEKO frost free fridge freezers which are subject to a safety warning.
If you own a BEKO fridge freezer manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006 we advise you to check and see if your appliance is affected.
The problem occurs when water gets into the defrost timer switch, which can lead to an electrical malfunction causing the fridge freezer to catch fire.
The Fire Brigade says the fault has caused 20 fires and one death in London since 2008.
To check if your appliance may be affected go to the London Fire Brigade website and follow the instructions.
