What House? Awards
Shepherds Bush Housing Group (SBHG) received a nationally housing award for its flagship development.
SBHG’s WestPoint development, in west London, received the What House? bronze award for Best Mixed Use Development Award.
The WestPoint development has two buildings; Morris House, a conversion of a former Morris Minor car parts' warehouse and Issigonis House, a new development on the same site, named after the creator of the mini.
WestPoint has 178 apartments including 20 live/work homes which are designed for people who work from home. All are for people on lower incomes and all but 11 are now sold.
The What House? Awards are a national celebration of prestige and excellence in house building within the UK. Judges travel throughout Britain to find the best new homes.
The awards were presented on Friday 20 November and attended by hundreds of guests from the housing and building industry.
What House? describes the development as: “…designed and built to a high quality specification. There is a choice of different layouts providing ample living space.”
Paula Fance, SBHG’s director of sales and development, said: “Issigonis and Morris House offer affordable, stylish and spacious living in a vibrant area of west London. The design was thoughtfully done around the original warehouse; in essence Morris House is a building within a building. The award is recognition for the great design”.
Earlier this month Morris House won an award from Ealing Civic Society.
