Charitable SBHA Board Member awarded MBE
Dudley Savill, lay member of the Shepherds Bush Housing
Association (SBHA) Complaint Review Panel, has been awarded an
M.B.E. from the Queen's Birthday Honours list, for his charitable
services in London.
Dudley, an Ealing resident, has been involved with SBHA for over
20 years and has been an avid supporter of service user
participation. His work in Supported Housing includes time with St
Mungo's Community Trust and Hestia Housing and Support as a
Participation Officer. He also chairs Kiloran, a charity for
carer's support and has served in the past on SBHA's Board.
Paul Doe, Chief Executive of SBHA, said: "Dudley has always
supported SBHA tenants, ensuring they are involved as much as
possible, whether as part of SBHA governance or dedicated to
developing their local community. It is marvellous to have another
past member of the SBHA Board awarded an M.B.E. and recognised for
his continuous work in the charity field."
Dudley Savill said: "It is a pleasure to be awarded an M.B.E. I
have thoroughly enjoyed working within this sector and my wife has
been extremely supportive in my work over a number of years. Being
part of the SBHA committee structure and able to facilitate change
has been a delight. The encouragement SBHA has given to tenant
involvement has been incredibly positive and a true recognition of
the importance of tenants' rights and responsibilities."
